Start of summer

Boy is this girl growing up! And she gets funnier by the day. This week, she is into streaking...really. She strips off her clothes and diaper and prances around the house. I'm not sure what this new fascination with being naked is about, but any chance she gets, she gettin' "necked."

She also seems to really enjoy "time out." Once she has done something she's not supposed to do, she looks at you and says "Sorry, Mama. Addison go to time out." It's almost as if she's looking for something to do to send herself to "time out." Needless to say, "time out" is not an effective deterrent for bad behavior.

She's apparently been listening very closely to the radio and CMT at home. Lately, she's been singing Lady Antebellum's song "Run to you". We do a lot of dancing and singing at home to CMT, so she's now picking up these songs in addition to her nursery rhymes and songs from school. It was quite surprising and hilarious the first time I heard her singing along in the car. Now she will just bust out in song randomly. She sings the chorus and it's funny. It takes a minute for me to figure it out usually, and it goes a little something like this: "...faster to de new disfaster so I wun to you, BABY. when it all starts coming undone, baby you're the only one I wun to. I wun to you. Sing, Mama!"

In addition to her country music debut, we've discoverd that she is quite the Southern Belle. She likes her veggies fried, her tea sweet, and her one-syllable words have become two. The only vegetables I can get her to eat are fried okra and fried squash, so I guess we'll have to try all the rest of 'em fried too! She's funny to listen to when she talks. Recently, she has said "look at dat 'big 'ole' stick!" and she says "what's ay-at (that)?" frequently. She idenitifes Tinkerbell with her southern drawl, "Tinkerbeyell" and also says "yall." There are others that have sent me and Jason rolling on the floor laughing here recently, but I can't think of what they are at the moment. Anyway, she's a trip! (She'll say that too - "I a trip!")

We are having a great summer so far! Here's a few pics:

Swimming in her pool and eating popsicles on hot days

Jumping in the bounce house at a party

Being silly with Mama's hair bands around her head

Blowing her pary horn at her classmate Katie's birthday party

Chillin in the back seat with her Hollywood shades on

Sitting in the chair with her cousins Trinity and Jayden watching a movie
