So, we've discovered that one of Addison's favorite things to do is swim! Last summer she got in a pool once with swimmies and loved it. This summer, we've taken her every chance we get and put her in swimming lessons at
Winthrop for Faculty/Staff kids. She LOVES the water, has no fear of it whatsoever (dangerous!) and can't get enough of it. Here's some pictures of her enjoying herself.

| At our Sunday School part at the Sistare's pool. She got in with Daddy and was swimming like a fish with those swimmies on! She jumped in and went under so many times she was WORN OUT! |

| Here she is on her first day of swimming lessons. These lessons were GREAT! Her teacher was Mr. Rob and there was only one other little girl assigned to him, so they got lots of individual attention and instruction. |

I don't have any pictures of her swimming without her float (I was too busy getting it on the video camera - sorry, can't seem to get those videos loaded), but the second week, she did swim without her float and did really well. The day that Nanda and Pippy came to watch was the first day she swam without her float. We were a little nervous at first and Nanda even stood up to go over there once, but all was good. They only were without their floats for about 10 minutes. The next day, however, they spent about 25 minutes without their floats on - enough for Addison to get used to it and get brave. At one point, Mr. Rob was with the other little girl going across to the rope as she was swimming without her float. Addison was standing on the ladder, supposedly waiting her turn. She looked over at me and waved at one point. I waved back. She then started saying loudly, "It's my turn" and looked like she was about to jump in. I was holding my hand up in a "stop" motion and saying "not yet." Mr. Rob and the other little girl were not even halfway back to her when she took the plunge. In she went, all by herself with no float. I, of course, stood up and went running over and about halfway there, I noticed that she was swimming. She had come back up and was swimming to Mr. Rob, who was anxiously trying to get to her side. So, for the rest of the days, she swam without her float and mostly underwater, which is her favorite way to swim apparently. She was so proud of herself and I was proud too, even though the other moms were worried I was about to go into labor when I jumped up and went running!

With Mr. Rob and Grace, her classmate and their certificates and popsicles. Yay! |
Looks like Addison is following in Aunt Wissa's footsteps! I can't wait to watch her first swim meet! :)
